Anonymous question that I accidentially deleted but luckily had opened in another tab; @hate Does it make a difference to you if one hates on a black homeless guy or if one hates a powerful executive? What if a group of people tries to ban all shelters for homeless people? What if another group campaigns against the executive? Or another example, is it the same hate if the hetereo guy get’s called “faggot!” at school as if a transwoman gets told by a loving relative that transsexuality doesn’t exist?
Counter-question: do you believe it is rightful and justified when Person A is attacked on the street by a member of an immigrant family (Person B) who feels the oppression of the system and thus antagonizes Person A because they happen to benefit from said system (which they never asked for, by the way), even though Person A root for a change, and even though all Person A ever did was act in defense when they got attacked and insulted?
Because that happened to friends of mine (and more than once, and always under the same circumstances), and if you side with Person B because their life is oh so hard because they are an immigrant, then fuck off please.
Person B had -no- right to insult and then beat up Person A.
And this is what I am trying to say; just because someone is an underdog, they are not entitled to be violent or insulting towards people who have more benefits within our society.
All the examples you listed are a matter of cause and reason; it is justified to hate a person or an organisation if they knowingly and willfully harm other people or put them into misfortunate positions, but it is not okay to hate people just because they have a certain heritage, ethnicy, gender, class, etc.
It is okay to hate someone based on their bad and harmful actions, but not okay to hate them just because they benefit more in society or because they do not fit what society deems ‘the norm’, or because they are from a group of people from which individuals have wronged you before.
(see: my example. Just because a handful of immigrant jerks were assholes doesn’t mean they all are, and neither does it mean that said friends should be hateful against all immigrants now. Likewise the other way around, of course! Or just because girls get harassed by some perverted assholes who can’t accept a person’s boundaries must mean that all men are jerks like that or that there is any legitimate reason to hate them all for the stunts some individuals pull.)
And if you do believe an underdog is entitled to be violent and aggressive towards people who are part of (but took no part in creating or keeping up an) institution then you are not for equality; you are for imbalance of power in favour of the underdog, which does not make you any better than said institution that denies you equal rights and benefits.
All the tumblr blogs that promote hate make me gag
and I mean all of them.
Doesn’t fucking matter to me wether it is against blacks, whites, asians, mexicans, heterosexuals, homosexuals, asexuals, transgendered, cisgendered, men, women, rich people, poor people, fat people, skinny people, homeless people, and so on.
I don’t get why they aren’t removed.
It’s not free speech or a matter of opinion when you constantly attack a certain group of people.
It’s just gross as fuck and has no justification to continue existing.
